Volition in prospective Memory: Evidence against differences between free and fixed target events

چکیده
Volition is the extent to which actions are generated as a result of internal states in contrast responses external conditions or dictated by events. Delayed intentions about future action stored prospective memory until intended has be formed at later point time. It unknown how voluntary choice affects memory. We compared difference between freely chosen and fixed targets on reaction times task performance ongoing for target stimuli task. The time was modelled using Bayesian hierarchical drift–diffusion model. analysis showed no differences self-chosen cues responses. suggests that volition choosing cue act upon given does not make performance.

Aging and prospective memory: differences between naturalistic and laboratory tasks.
The contrasting age-related trends on laboratory and naturalistic prospective memory (PM) studies were investigated with the same participants. In the first two experiments, 380 participants in three age groups (20s, 60s, and 80+) were given a naturalistic PM task of logging the time at four set times for one week. There were six between-subjects regimens that varied the complexity of the time ...

15 صفحه اولMisleading postevent information and memory for events: arguments and evidence against memory impairment hypotheses.
The claim that a person's memory for an event may be altered by information encountered after the event has been influential in shaping current conceptions of memory. The basis for the claim is a series of studies showing that subjects who are given false or misleading information about a previously witnessed event perform more poorly on tests of memory for the event than subjects who are not m...

Background Disposable electrocardiographic lead wires (ECG-LWs) may not be as durable as reusable ones. Objective To examine differences in alarm events between disposable and reusable ECG-LWs. Method Two cardiac telemetry units were randomized to reusable ECG-LWs, and 2 units alternated between disposable and reusable ECG-LWs for 4 months. A remote monitoring team, blinded to ECG-LW type, asse...
متن کاملNeural evidence of the strategic choice between working memory and episodic memory in prospective remembering
Theories of prospective memory (PM) posit that it can be subserved either by working memory (WM) or episodic memory (EM). Testing and refining these multiprocess theories of PM requires a way of tracking participants' reliance on WM versus EM. Here we use multi-voxel pattern analysis (MVPA) to derive a trial-by-trial measure of WM use in prospective memory. We manipulated strategy demands by va...
